A nd Samson's wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not. Thou hast propounded the riddle to the children of my people, and hast not explained it to me. And he said to her, Behold, I have not explained it to my father nor my mother, and shall I explain it to thee?

La moglie di Sansone pianse davanti a lui e gli disse: «Tu mi porti solo odio e non mi ami; tu hai proposto un indovinello ai figli del mio popolo, ma non l'hai spiegato a me». Allora egli le disse: «Ecco, non l'ho spiegato neppure a mio padre e a mia madre, perché dovrei spiegarlo a te?».
