Deuteronomy 20:19 ~ 5 Mose 20:19

W hen thou shalt besiege a city many days, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by lifting up an axe against them; for thou canst eat of them; and thou shalt not cut them down, for is the tree of the field a man that it should be besieged?

Wenn du vor einer Stadt lange Zeit liegen mußt, wider die du streitest, sie zu erobern, so sollst die Bäume nicht verderben, daß du mit Äxten dran fährst; denn du kannst davon essen, darum sollst du sie nicht ausrotten. Ist's doch Holz auf dem Felde und nicht ein Mensch, daß es vor dir ein Bollwerk sein könnte.
