B ecause Jehovah was not able to bring this people into the land that he had sworn unto them, he has therefore slain them in the wilderness.

‹لَمْ يَستَطِعِ اللهُ أنْ يُدخِلَ هَذا الشَّعبَ إلَى الأرْضِ الَّتِي وَعَدَهُمْ بِها، فَقَتَلَهُمْ فِي الصَّحْراءِ.›
