W oe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake! to the dumb stone, Arise! Shall it teach? Behold it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.

Guai a chi dice al legno: «Svegliati!», o alla pietra muta: «Lèvati!». Potrebbe essa insegnare qualcosa? Ecco, è ricoperta d'oro e d'argento, ma in essa non c'è alcun soffio di vita.
