A nd he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt-offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.

عَلَى مَنْ يُقَدِّمُهُ أنْ يَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأسِ الحَيوانِ لِيَكُونَ مَقبُولاً لِلتَّكفِيرِ عَنْهُ.
