T hen the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting; neither were concubines brought before him; and his sleep fled from him.

وَذَهَبَ المَلِكُ إلَى قَصرِهِ وَقَضَى اللَّيلَ بِلا طَعامٍ. وَمَنَعَ أنْ يَأتِي إلَيهِ مَنْ يُسَلِّيهِ، لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَستَطِعِ النَّومَ.
