A nd Daniel requested of the king, and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego over the administration of the province of Babylon. And Daniel was in the gate of the king.

Daniel a rugat pe împărat să dea grija trebilor ţinutului Babilonului în mîna lui Şadrac, Meşac şi Abed-Nego. Daniel însă a rămas la curtea împăratului.
