T hy prophets have seen vanity and folly for thee; and they have not revealed thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee burdens of falsehood and causes of expulsion.

I tuoi profeti hanno avuto per te visioni vane e illusorie; non hanno messo a nudo la tua iniquità per distogliere da te la deportazione. Le profezie che hanno fatto a tuo riguardo non erano che oracoli vani e seduttori.
