T hey are as a palm-column of turned work, and they speak not; they are carried, for they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

São como o espantalho num pepinal, e não podem falar; necessitam de quem os leve, porquanto não podem andar. Não tenhais receio deles, pois não podem fazer o mal, nem tampouco têm poder de fazer o bem.
