A nd now, Jehovah, God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy sons take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.

Ora dunque, o Eterno, DIO d'Israele, mantieni col tuo servo Davide, mio padre, ciò che gli hai promesso dicendo: "A te non mancherà mai alcuno che sieda davanti a me sul trono d'Israele, purché i tuoi figli veglino sulla loro condotta e per camminare nella mia legge, come tu hai camminato davanti a me"
