A nd David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David houghed all the chariot, but reserved of them a hundred chariots.

David took from him 1, 000 chariots and 7, 000 horsemen and 20, 000 foot soldiers, and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved enough of them for 100 chariots.
