A nd Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him. And sent a man before him. Before the messenger came to him, he himself said to the elders, Do ye see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? See, when the messenger comes; shut the door, and keep him off with the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?

Estaba á la sazón Eliseo sentado en su casa, y con él estaban sentados los ancianos: y el rey envió á él un hombre. Mas antes que el mensajero viniese á él, dijo él á los ancianos: ¿No habéis visto como este hijo del homicida me envía á quitar la cabeza? Mirad pues, y cuando viniere el mensajero, cerrad la puerta, é impedidle la entrada: ¿no viene tras él el ruido de los pies de su amo?
