A nd they came down to him; and Elisha prayed to Jehovah and said, Smite this nation, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

Les Syriens descendirent vers Élisée. Il adressa alors cette prière à l'Éternel: Daigne frapper d'aveuglement cette nation! Et l'Éternel les frappa d'aveuglement, selon la parole d'Élisée.
