A nd Jehovah testified against Israel and against Judah, by all the prophets, all the seers, saying, Turn from your evil ways, and keep my commandments, my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you through my servants the prophets.

Eppure l'Eterno aveva avvertito Israele e Giuda per mezzo di tutti i profeti e di tutti i veggenti, dicendo: «Tornate indietro dalle vostre vie malvagie e osservate i miei comandamenti e i miei statuti, secondo tutta la legge che io prescrissi ai vostri padri e che ho mandato a voi per mezzo dei miei servi i profeti».
