T hen all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and broke it down: his altars and his images they broke in pieces completely, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of Jehovah.

Y todo el pueblo de la tierra entró en el templo de Baal, y lo derribaron; asimismo despedazaron enteramente sus altares y sus imágenes, y mataron a Matán sacerdote de Baal delante de los altares. Y el sacerdote puso guarnición sobre la casa de Jehová.
