A nd he departed thence, and found Jehonadab the son of Rechab to meet him; and he greeted him, and said to him, Is thy heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab said, It is.—If it be, give thy hand.—And he gave his hand; and took him up to him into the chariot,

وَبَعدَ أنِ انطَلَقَ مِنْ هُناكَ، قابَلَ يَهُونادابَ بْنَ رَكابٍ الَّذِي كانَ قادِماً لِلِقائِهِ. فَحَيّا ياهُو يَهُونادابَ وَقالَ لَهُ: «هَلْ أنتَ وَفِيٌّ لِي كَما أنا لَكَ؟» فَأجابَ يَهُونادابُ: «نَعَمْ، هَذا أمْرٌ أكِيدٌ.» فَقالَ ياهُو: «إنْ كانَ الأمْرُ كَذَلِكَ، فَأعطِنِي يَدَكَ.» ثُمَّ مَدَّ ياهُو يَدَهُ وَأصعَدَهُ إلَى المَركَبَةِ.
