a nd he departed. And a lion met him by the way and slew him; and his corpse was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it; the lion also stood by the corpse.

L'homme de Dieu s'en alla: et il fut rencontré dans le chemin par un lion qui le tua. Son cadavre était étendu dans le chemin; l'âne resta près de lui, et le lion se tint à côté du cadavre.
