كانَ لداودَ ابْنٌ يُدعَى أبْشالُومَ. وَلأبْشالُومَ أُخْتٌ تُدعَى ثامارَ، جَمِيلَةٌ جِدّاً. وَكانَ أمْنُونَ – وَهُوَ أحَدُ أبْناءِ داوُدَ – وَاقعاً في غَرامِ ثامارَ،
