然 而 那 些 人 竭 力 ? 桨 ， 要 把 船 拢 岸 ， 却 是 不 能 ， 因 为 海 浪 越 发 向 他 们 翻 腾 。

Nevertheless the men rowed hard to get them back to the land; but they could not: for the sea grew more and more tempestuous against them.
