軍 兵 卻 說 ： 你 不 可 出 戰 。 若 是 我 們 逃 跑 ， 敵 人 必 不 介 意 ； 我 們 陣 亡 一 半 ， 敵 人 也 不 介 意 。 因 為 你 一 人 強 似 我 們 萬 人 ， 你 不 如 在 城 裡 預 備 幫 助 我 們 。

But the people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but now thou art worth ten thousand of us: therefore now it is better that thou succour us out of the city.
