Т огава Давид каза на вестоносеца: Така да кажеш на Йоав: Да не те смущава това нещо, защото мечът погубва понякога един и понякога - друг. Засили още повече нападението си против града и го съсипи. Също и ти го насърчи.


Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.
