З ащото жертвуваше на дамасковите богове, които го бяха поразили, като думаше: Понеже боговете на сирийските царе им помагат, на тях ще принасям жертви, за да помагат и на мене. Но те станаха причина да падне той и целият Израил.

for he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, who had smitten him, and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them; therefore, I will also sacrifice to them that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him and of all Israel.
