A nd David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me any more in all the borders of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.

Dijo luego David en su corazón: «Cualquier día de estos voy a morir a manos de Saúl; por tanto, lo mejor será que me fugue a tierra de los filisteos, para que Saúl no se ocupe más de mí y no me siga buscando por todo el territorio de Israel; así escaparé de sus manos.»
