T hen said Abishai to David, God hath delivered up thine enemy into thy hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear to the earth at one stroke, and I will not smite him the second time.

Allora Abisai disse a Davide: «Oggi Dio ti ha messo il tuo nemico nelle mani; ora lascia, ti prego, che io lo colpisca con la lancia e lo inchiodi in terra con un solo colpo e non ci sarà bisogno di un secondo».
