A nd the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? Far from it: as Jehovah liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

Entonces el pueblo le dijo a Saúl: «¿Tiene que morir tu hijo Jonatán, cuando ha sido él quien salvó al pueblo de Israel? ¡De ninguna manera! Juramos por el Señor que ni uno solo de sus cabellos caerá a tierra. Lo que él hizo hoy, lo hizo de acuerdo al plan de Dios.» De esta manera el pueblo de Israel impidió la muerte de Jonatán.
