t hen said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth; and he said Sibboleth; for he could not frame to pronounce it right: then they laid hold on him, and slew him at the fords of the Jordan. And there fell at that time of Ephraim forty and two thousand.

Ако речеше: Не съм, тогава му думаха: Речи Шиболет, а той казваше: Сиболет, защото не можеше да го произнесе право. Тогава го хващаха, та го заколваха при бродовете на Иордан. И в онова време паднаха от Ефрема четиридесет и две хиляди души.
