t hat the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

le acque che scendevano dall'alto si fermarono e si elevarono in un mucchio, fino molto al di sopra di Adam, la città che si trova presso Tsartan; così le acque che scendevano verso il mare dell'Arabah, il Mar Salato, furono interamente separate da esse; e il popolo passò di fronte a Gerico.
