F or it was of Jehovah to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

Căci Domnul a îngăduit ca popoarele acelea să-şi împetrească inima şi să lupte împotriva lui Israel, pentru ca Israel să le nimicească cu desăvîrşire, fără să aibă milă de ele, şi să le nimicească, după cum poruncise lui Moise Domnul.
