F or Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

Căci Pavel hotărâse să treacă pe lângă Efes, ca să nu mai piardă timpul în Asia, pentru că se grăbea să fie în Ierusalim de Ziua Cincizecimii, dacă-i va fi posibil.
