T he soldiers therefore, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

Tendo crucificado Jesus, os soldados tomaram as roupas dele e as dividiram em quatro partes, uma para cada um deles, restando a túnica. Esta, porém, era sem costura, tecida numa única peça, de alto a baixo.
