I f thieves came to thee, if robbers by night (how art thou cut off!), would they not steal only till they had enough? if grape-gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes?

Dacă ar fi intrat la tine nişte hoţi, sau nişte tîlhari de noapte, -cum eşti de pustiit! -ar fi luat ei oare mai mult decît ar fi putut? Dacă ar fi venit nişte culegători de vie la tine, n'ar fi lăsat ei niciun strugure pe urmă?
