T he inhabitants of Samaria shall be in terror for the calves of Beth-aven; for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced over it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.


Locuitorii Samariei sunt înmărmuriţi din pricina viţelului din Bet-Aven. Atât poporul lui, cât şi preoţii lui îl jelesc – cei care s-au bucurat de gloria lui – căci este luat de la ei şi dus în exil.
