B ut the army of the Chaldeans pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he gave judgment upon him.

Oştirea caldeenilor i-a urmărit însă şi l-a ajuns pe Zedechia în câmpiile Ierihonului. L-au capturat şi l-au dus la Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului, la Ribla, în ţara Hamatului. Acesta a rostit o sentinţă împotriva lui.
