F or every matter of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, whereof one saith, This is it, the cause of both parties shall come before God; he whom God shall condemn shall pay double unto his neighbor.

Dans toute affaire frauduleuse concernant un boeuf, un âne, un agneau, un vêtement, ou un objet perdu, au sujet duquel on dira: C'est cela! -la cause des deux parties ira jusqu'à Dieu; celui que Dieu condamnera fera à son prochain une restitution au double.
