t he Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them was fallen upon all the peoples.

Iudeii s-au adunat în cetăţile lor, în toate provinciile împăratului Ahaşveroş, ca să pună mâna pe cei ce căutau să le facă rău. Nimeni nu le-a putut sta împotrivă, căci groaza de iudei cuprinsese toate popoarele.
