w herein the king granted the Jews that were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, their little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey,

Potrivit acestui decret, împăratul dădea iudeilor din fiecare cetate dreptul de a se aduna şi de a-şi apăra vieţile, de a nimici, de a ucide şi de a stârpi orice oştire, popor sau provincie care s-ar ridica împotriva lor, a copiilor şi a femeilor lor, ca să le prade averile.
