B ut he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war; and God hath commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.

Ma Neco gli inviò dei messaggeri per dirgli: «Che c’è fra me e te, o re di Giuda? Io non salgo oggi contro di te, ma contro una casa con la quale sono in guerra; e Dio mi ha comandato di far presto. Bada dunque di non opporti a Dio, il quale è con me, affinché egli non ti distrugga».
