A nd the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of Jehovah, so that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken Jehovah, he hath also forsaken you.

Atunci Zaharia, fiul preotului Iehoiada, a fost îmbrăcat cu Duhul lui Dumnezeu. El a stat înaintea poporului şi le-a vorbit astfel: „Aşa vorbeşte Dumnezeu: «De ce aţi încălcat poruncile Domnului ? Nu veţi propăşi! Fiindcă L-aţi părăsit pe Domnul, şi El vă va părăsi!»“
