A nd he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beer-sheba; and he brake down the high places of the gates that were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man's left hand at the gate of the city.

Iosia i-a izgonit pe toţi preoţii din cetăţile lui Iuda şi a distrus înălţimile unde preoţii ardeau tămâie, de la Gheva până la Beer-Şeba. A dărâmat, de asemenea, înălţimile de la porţi, cele care erau la intrarea porţii lui Iosua, conducătorul cetăţii, în partea stângă a porţii cetăţii.
