A nd all the people of the land went to the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of Jehovah.

Y todo el pueblo de la tierra entró en el templo de Baal, y derribáronlo: asimismo despedazaron enteramente sus altares y sus imágenes, y mataron á Mathán sacerdote de Baal delante de los altares. Y el sacerdote puso guarnición sobre la casa de Jehová.
