I n times past, when Saul was king over us, it was thou that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and Jehovah said to thee, Thou shalt be shepherd of my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.

Previously, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and in. And the Lord said to you, ‘ You will shepherd My people Israel, and you will be a ruler over Israel.’”
