A nd Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me, to make me odious to the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and, I being few in number, they will gather themselves together against me and smite me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.

Allora Giacobbe disse a Simeone e a Levi: «Voi mi causate grande angoscia, mettendomi in cattiva luce davanti agli abitanti del paese, ai Cananei e ai Ferezei. Io non ho che pochi uomini; essi si raduneranno contro di me, mi piomberanno addosso e sarò distrutto io con la mia casa».
