A nd David saved neither man nor woman alive to bring tidings to Gath, thinking, Lest they should say about us, So did David, and so will he do as long as he dwells in the Philistines’ country.

David nu lăsa cu viaţă nici bărbat, nici femeie ca să vină la Gat;,, căci``, se gîndea el, ei,, ar putea să vorbească împotriva noastră şi să zică:,, Aşa a făcut David.`` Şi acesta a fost felul lui de purtare în tot timpul cît a locuit în ţara Filistenilor.
