T he servants of Achish said to him, Is not this David, the king of the land? Did they not sing one to another of him in their dances: Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?

فَقالَ كِبارُ مَسؤُولِي أخِيشَ: «أَهَذا داوُدُ رَجُلُ مَلِكِ إسْرائِيلَ؟ أَلَيسَ هُوَ الَّذِي يَتَغَنَّى بِهِ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ وَيَرْقُصُونَ وَيُنْشِدُونَ لَهُ: ‹شاوُلُ قَتَلَ الآلافَ. وَداوُدُ عَشَراتِ الآلافِ؟›»
