B ut David replied, Your father certainly knows that I have found favor in your eyes, and he thinks, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved. But truly as the Lord lives and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.

大 衛 又 起 誓 說 ： 你 父 親 準 知 我 在 你 眼 前 蒙 恩 。 他 心 裡 說 ， 不 如 不 叫 約 拿 單 知 道 ， 恐 怕 他 愁 煩 。 我 指 著 永 生 的 耶 和 華 ， 又 敢 在 你 面 前 起 誓 ， 我 離 死 不 過 一 步 。
