B ut on the morrow, the second day after the new moon, David’s place was empty; and Saul said to Jonathan his son, Why has not the son of Jesse come to the meal, either yesterday or today?

وَفِي اليَومِ التّالِي، فِي اليَومِ الثّانِي مِنَ الشَّهرِ، كانَ مَكانُ داوُدَ ما يَزالُ فارِغاً. فَقالَ شاوُلُ لابْنِهِ يُوناثانَ: «لِماذا لَمْ يَحْضُرِ ابنُ يَسَّى إلَى مَأْدُبَةِ عِيدِ أوَّلِ الشَّهْرِ لا أَمْسِ وَلا اليَومَ؟»
