B ut the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had caused them to take an oath, saying, Cursed be the man who eats any food before evening and until I have taken vengeance on my enemies. So none of the men tasted any food.

Ma in quel giorno gli uomini d'Israele erano stremati, perché Saul aveva fatto fare al popolo questo giuramento: «Maledetto l'uomo che toccherà cibo prima di sera, prima che mi sia vendicato dei miei nemici». Così nessuno del popolo toccò cibo.
