N ow there was no metal worker to be found throughout all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make swords or spears.

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي كُلِّ إسْرائِيلَ كُلِّها حَدّادٌ واحِدٌ. فَلَمْ يُعَلِّمْهُمُ الفِلِسْطِيُّونَ لِأنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَشاءَوا أنْ يَصَنَعَ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ سُيُوفاً وَرِماحاً.
