T he beast that you saw was, but is no more, and he is going to come up out of the Abyss (the bottomless pit) and proceed to go to perdition. And the inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been recorded in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world will be astonished when they look at the beast, because he was, but is no more, and he is to come.

Зверь, которого ты видел, был и нет его. Он выйдет из бездны и отправится в погибель. Жители земли, имена которых от начала мира не были записаны в книге жизни, удивятся, глядя на зверя, потому что он был и его нет, и еще придет.
