B ut these men revile (scoff and sneer at) anything they do not happen to be acquainted with and do not understand; and whatever they do understand physically, like irrational beasts—by these they corrupt themselves and are destroyed (perish).

But these speak evil of those things which they do not know; but what they know by nature as animals without reason, in those things they corrupt themselves.
